Carole Rawcliffe, author of\u00a0<i>Urban Bodies: Communal Health in Late Medieval English Towns and Cities\u00a0<\/i>(2013), one of the defining publications within the nascent field, will perform as an expert commentator on four presentations, ranging from the cultural history of medicine to urban archaeology.<\/p>\n<p><b>Carole Rawcliffe<\/b>\u00a0is Professor Emerita of Medieval History at the University of East Anglia. She has published widely on the subject of medieval medicine (both spiritual and physical), hospitals, urban health and responses to disease. Together with Claire Weeda, she has edited the forthcoming volume\u00a0<i>Policing the Urban Environment<\/i>\u00a0<i>in Premodern Europe\u00a0<\/i>(Amsterdam University Press). Other books include\u00a0<i>Medicine and Society in Later Medieval England<\/i>\u00a0(1995);\u00a0<i>Medicine for the Soul<\/i>\u00a0(1999);\u00a0<i>Leprosy in Medieval England<\/i>\u00a0(2006).\u00a0 She also co-edited a collection of essays on\u00a0<i>East Anglia\u2019s History<\/i>\u00a0(2002), a\u00a0two-volume\u00a0<i>History of Norwich<\/i>\u00a0(2004) and a book of essays on\u00a0<i>Society in an Age of Plague<\/i>\u00a0(2011).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Program<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">15.30-16.00.\u00a0 Guy Geltner:\u00a0\u00a0\u201cGeneral Introduction and Research Possibilities in Italy: Urban History, Archaeology and Culture\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">16.00-16.30.
